Shane McMahon is backstage at the show. He hasn’t been seen on WWE television since October when he lost to Kevin Owens and, per the match stipulation, he was “fired” from WWE. McMahon lives in the area so it’s more likely that he is just visiting.
PWInsider is reporting that Paige is also backstage. There’s no word on if she will be appearing on the show but it’s worth noting that she has been pushing to get used more on regular WWE TV programming. As seen below, she noted on Twitter that she’s not too thrilled about having to travel during the holidays.
Recently signed WWE Creative team members Chris DeJoseph was backstage for the TLC pay-per-view and he’s backstage at SmackDown so it looks like he has been assigned to the blue brand.
So far, WWE has announced two matches for tonight’s show. Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura will face The New Day in a tag team non-title match and Dana Brooke will face SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley.
