Because of that, there was some speculation that WWE was planning on having Angel Garza and Andrade win the titles from The Street Profits.
Despite, the odd ending to the match, The Street Profits were supposed to win that match so the injury to Garza did not detail any of WWE’s plans. This was discussed this morning on Wrestling Observer Radio.
Dave Meltzer said, “Just so people know, The Street Profits were in fact going to win this match. They were not going to change title. The finish was not changed in that way.”
There is still no official word on the severity of Garza’s injury. There was talk backstage of a possible quad or hip injury and PWInsider reported that some believe that the injury may not be too serious. Hopefully, it’s not something that will keep him out for an extended period of time. We’ll post updates on Garza when we hear more.
